Mary is the founder of Portland Doula Collaborative and a licensed massage therapist, with additional advanced certification in pediatrics as well as her Bachelors Degree in Human Biology and Health Sciences from USM in Portland. She is also a DONA/CAPPA trained doula offering labor and delivery support, as well as postpartum support. She works with all families including those in high risk medical situations including work with multiples, medically assisted deliveries, high risk pregnancy, breech presentation, and medically fragile infants. She attends births at all hospitals in Maine, New Hampshire, and Eastern Mass, as well as births at home. (Her 3rd child was born at home!)
As a doula, class facilitator, mother of three kiddos under 12, and practitioner, Mary brings her vast knowledge of integrative holistic treatment plans to visits with her clients. Her favorite holistic topics are herbal medicine, manual therapy, and medically safe alternatives to pharmaceuticals. She has taught family based workshops in infant massage, specialized holistic pediatric care, and child birthing education at Maine Medical Center.
Mary provides all of the services offered at Portland Doula Collaborative, including her newly found love of placenta encapsulation but enjoys educating parents, and other providers on the importance of a gentle, non-judgemental approach to birthing that best supports the family as a whole.

So Why A Collaborative?
A collaborative approach helps our wellness and holistic practitioners have greater flexibility in the services we offer, and availability. Allowing immediate access to one another also allows for an ease in sharing information which proves useful for our clients. Our practitioners often share clients, or refer to one another to allow for ease of transition, and care. Depending on availability, you may see more than one provider if you choose to be open to this. We also allow our clients to work solely with one practitioner of their chose! Flexibility is key in the perinatal period, and we understand this! We hope you enjoy learning about us, as much as we do about you!
